After 7 years with the good people of the
Metrolina Expo, we have decided to part
ways as of mid-March 2009. We wish
them well.
The April 2009 Spectacular will be held
at the gorgeous Cabarrus Arena & Events Center, just 20 miles
northeast of Metrolina Expo in the heart of NASCAR money.
We’re looking to build a stronger, better show for all our dealers
who have been the lifeblood of the show for so many years.
The Charlotte team looked hard to fi nd the right place to
showcase the dealers that make this show so special. We hope
you will join us in this beautiful new facility. In the interim, the
monthly shows will continue to be held here at Metrolina Expo. |

| 12 questions we hope you'll ask |
- Is there space for outside exhibitors? Yes, there are over 600 outside exhibitor booths.
- Is there a place for big tents? Yes, there is space for as many big tents as we need.
- Are the booths the same size? Indoor booths are bigger (i.e. – 10 ft. by 10 ft.). Outside booths remain the same (i.e. 20 ft. x 12 ft.).
- Do overnight outside exhibitors who are ‘campers’ have facilities? Campers have use of clean modern restroom and shower facilities.
- Are any exhibitors to be excluded because their merchandise is not good enough? Any and all exhibitors are welcome to join us, however, booth placement will be based on inventory.
- Are pegboard and tables available? Yes, pegboard and tables are available for the same low price you are paying now. Showcases and safes are also available to rent.
- Do the booths include electricity? Booths include electricity.
- Is there security at the new facility? Yes, there is 24-hour security and there is a Sheriff’s Annex offi ce located on-site.
- Why are you moving the show? To provide our exhibitors with the type of show they deserve with top quality facilities, good quality food at affordable prices, PAVED and free parking.
- How many shows will there be at the new facility? Five shows a year in February, April, June, August and November. However, as our fi rst show will be in April 2009, there will only be four shows at Cabarrus Arena & Events Center in 2009.
- Why are you only doing fi ve shows a year? Firstly, current market conditions do not warrant a monthly show. Secondly, with monthly shows, buyers can defer decisions until the next show – there is no urgency to buy. We want to revive that urgency by removing the ‘wait until the next show’ option. A good example of this is the DC Flea which takes place fi ve times a year.
- Are you concerned that the Cabarrus Arena is further from downtown Charlotte than the Metrolina Expo? The Cabarrus Arena is less than a 30 minute drive from downtown Charlotte with four lane access available via I-485 and SR49. Other public shows at Cabarrus Arena demonstrate that visitors from Charlotte attend en masse. For example, four years ago Christmas Made in the South moved to Cabarrus Arena from the Charlotte Convention Center. In its fi rst year, attendance increased by 20% and has continued to grow since then.
